DPRD Chairperson Commits to Support Corruption Eradication

Jakarta Council (DPRD) Chairperson, Prasetio Edi Marsudi emphasized his commitment to support integrated corruption eradication program in Jakarta Provincial Government.

In other words, corruption causes inefficiency and wasting the existing economic resources

"The integrated corruption eradication program in Jakarta Provincial Government is a very strategic and important thing," he asserted in his remarks during the Monitoring and Evaluating the Integrated Corruption Eradication Program of Jakarta Provincial Government which held virtually on Thursday (5/28).

For implementing the program, he continued, it needs good planning and spirit to realize the clean governance that is free of corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN).

According to him, corruption not only affects the economic growth, but also decline the quality of infrastructure and public services, and distort the composition or structure of local government development expenditure.

"In other words, corruption causes inefficiency and wasting the existing economic resources," he asserted.

He assessed that corruption can be prevented by creating a transparency in all forms of activities and managing local budget in an effective and efficient way and accountable.

"As the supervisor, DPRD also needs assistance in monitoring the implementation of all APBD activities in order to create an orderly and safe atmosphere for people's welfare and development of Jakarta," he stated.
